Crimson Desert. So it better be real 😆 because it looks absolutely insane (or maybe too good to be true?)

It somehow managed to look like The Witcher, Assassin's Creed, Elden Ring, RDR2, Ghost of Tsushima, Kingdom Come Deliverence, and even TotK all rolled up in to one. (Almost like they've just created a trailer using things that resemble other games but within their engine, rather than it being complete flowing gameplay)

On second watch too, I saw a bird weirdly glide into a waterfall, and that just looked really suspicious. I want to get really hyped for this game, but I'm so very wary all the same

Really loved the look of Crimson Desert...

But I honestly think it's as concrete as a mirage so I'm not exactly getting my hopes up. Big vaporware vibes

It was a close one between Granblue Fantasy Relink and Crimson Desert but I went with Granblue. I've been looking forward to that game for far too long now and it finally got a concrete release date.

Crimson Desert 's showing was weird to me.. Yah, it looked good, overall, but it also feels like there's too much s*** going on with gameplay elements for all of it to be more than just serviceable. Granted, I've no idea how long that one's even in the works - seems like people have been waiting for info on it for a while altho I don't believe I've heard of it before, or at the very least COMPLETELY forgot about it - but it looked super unfocused and like they just tried to cram as many "things" into that trailer as they possibly could.

Granblue still seems like a cool idea to me but I'll have to see that gameplay footage before I decide whether or not it's something I wanna get excited for considering it's Bamco and...I'm not particularly fond of most of their output.

My vote went to MK1 because that still seems like I'd have loads of fun with it. Offline. Mostly playing the singleplayer stuff. Because I suck at actually taking fighters online 😅
Game's artstyle is gorgeous tho. Love what they're doing with that setting and the characters look super fun to play as.

Granblue Fantasy runs away with this for me.

Also I don't know if it actually part of Gamescom, but Project Mugen looks sick as hell.

No Rebirth showing was disappointing, but it’s not like I need to see any more footage to know I’m getting the game anyway!

@Dom_31 They make the "Tales of" games so most likely your thinking of Tales of Arise which was their latest game.

Black Myth for me. And even better, hands on previews have been glowing, Eurogamer even suggesting combat could be better than SoulsBorne titles. Looking promising 🤞

Tough choice between Lords of the Fallen and Crimson Desert...
I like both games, but for the trailers presented at Gamescom, I have to give it to Crimson Desert.

The game has many inspirations from various other big IP's, and there are quite a few details peppered in that trailer, you don't even notice or properly process them on first or even second watch... a few examples:

• you can get convicted when you commit a crime (like in Red Dead Redemption 2)
• not only you can carry a sheep, pet a dog or a cat, but you can also play a flute to make a pack of rats follow you (I didn't even see the little buggers the first couple of times I watched the video, they're so small in that grass)
• you can do a "hand break" on the horse to make it do a sharp turn : )
• you can jump a fence olympic style using a Halberd of all things
• you can climb actual trees in the same manner you do a building
• you can even climb what looks like an Ent!
• you can do a realistic crawl through vegetation, like thick bushes, by pushing aside the branches with your hands as you slowly advance;
• you can tame horses and ride hot air balloons
• you get to fight not only a humanoid robot, but a big ass mechanical dragon too !
• there's an island system, that seem to hold all the futuristic technological parts of the game, and the elevated puzzles they've shown. And when you throw yourself off, you fall into the medieval parts of the game. So the real time in the game may be somewhere in the future, like in Assassin's Creed.
• you have what looks like a "dark side", which you use to glide at one point - well, near the end of the video, you change form near a group of people, and that frightened them
• from the descriptions of the fruits you buy from the shop, you can deduce that the game has a Stamina system, you may need to cook and especially eat regularly;
• there is a thermometer near the minimap, showing the outside temperature, which would indicate that clothes/armor types play an important part, you have to stay warm in cold weather and dress lightly where it's warm.

@Shinnok789 best bush gameplay I've seen in a game 🤣 I genuinely hope that's something you can do whilst exploring, rather than a cutscene.

I want to get so hyped for this game, because it could be one of those that tries everything and ends up setting a standard for some things. I hate in games when bushes either have no mass, and you can just float through, or when they have giant invisible boxes where you can't even get close. But then, there's probably a reason for it, it seems like it would take a lot of effort to make every bush in a game react like a legitimate real world bush, considering how massive this game seems to look, and that's where I get suspicious again.

I'm praying for attention to detail in the vain of KCD, but with a AAA budget (they've made $1.6 billion in revenue from Black Desert, apparently, so you never know, they could be genuinely reaching for a place at the AAA table)

Little nightmares 3. I'm more excited for Alan Wake but new reveals show better for me.

Expeditions for me. Personally I thought it was a pretty worthless show all in all.

Let's be transparent here, these are 3rd part multiplatform games. As Sony chose not to show up in any capacity because fan service isn't a priority as long as hardware sales hold steady.

My most anticipated 3rd part title is lords of the Fallen.

However, the best showing games at gamescom I think were Crimson Desert and Black Myth Wukong.

I choose Sonic Superstars, despite I'm not sure I can play Sonic games.

@KundaliniRising333 I don't think it is about fanservice as much as they just do not have anything that is in a state to be shown right now. The fact is Gamescom was generally disappointing as it had almost no new reveals and existed more to give us updates on a ton of games coming out this year and early next year.

They openly said in their Q1 earnings that a lot of first party titles have been delayed.

Tekken 8. Happy to get an official release day for that.

Tekken 8. The beta was so fun and the game is looking fantastic. I love the look of the new arcade quest mode and glad there's a full story mode as well.

Crimson Desert was the most interesting. Just hope it's as good as it looks, but I remain sceptical.

I already played tekken 8 so the trailer didnt excite me much because im already very hyped but other than that black myth with yet another great trailer and lotf is one to look forward to. Overall good show but nothing amazing

Crimson Desert is one of those "I'll believe it when I see it". So many big games have turned into absolute dumpster fires so I'm not holding my breath on that one.
